Elevating Your Brand with Precision.

If you haven’t guessed already, my name is Mark. I’m a commercial photographer & video producer based in Austin, TX along with my wife, our dog “Maui”, and two felines-”Hootie” & “Lucia”.

I’ve dedicated the last 10 years to building a successful business focused on producing exceptional results tailored to elevate your brand, no matter the industry or size. My style is best described as clean, sharp, and somewhat “moody”, with a “less is more” approach in terms of composition & lighting that allows the product and its features to take center stage.

My creative process begins with an initial consultation, where I learn about your company, its core values, and its target market. From there, I develop concepts that ensure a cohesive style and representation of your brand.

Throughout the project, I prioritize clear and timely communication. I answer questions within 24 hours and provide regular updates to keep you informed of progress and ensure deadlines are met.

Importantly, I offer guaranteed estimates for every project, ensuring the final invoice matches the original quote. As I often say, “I’m not the budget photographer in town, but I’m far from the most expensive,” meaning I’m confident in my ability to deliver exceptional results at a fair price. If additional time or expense is required, that’s on me. This approach has earned the trust of my many repeat clients, who regularly refer me as a reliable, professional, and skilled photographer.

Why I Love What I Do.

How I got here has been quite the journey. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, I spent eight years as a licensed CPA working in accounting and tax roles. However, a pivotal trip in 2013 shifted my perspective on life and work. Seeking a creative outlet, I discovered photography—a passion that quickly grew from a hobby into a serious pursuit.

At 32, I made the leap from my comfortable office job to study studio photography and video production at Austin Community College. After two years of dedicated study and working as a production assistant at companies around Austin, I launched my own photography business. In the beginning, I took on any project that came my way—newborns, weddings, portraits, music, events—you name it. While I loved using my camera, I soon realized my true artistic talents lay elsewhere.

Drawing on my analytical mindset from years in accounting, I developed a fascination with lighting—how it influences everything from our emotions to our purchasing decisions. This fascination led me to master the art of controlling and manipulating light, using flashes, continuous lighting, or a combination of both. Over time, I discovered my passion truly resided in studio photography, where I could fully control every aspect of the creative process.

Fast forward to 2024, and my enthusiasm for photography is stronger than ever. I take pride in running a successful business where I blend creative ideas with technical expertise to deliver exceptional results. I’m always excited to hear new stories and collaborate on meaningful projects, so feel free to reach out—let’s create something awesome together!

FAQs

WHAT DO YOU CHARGE FOR PHOTOGRAPHY AND/OR VIDEO PRODUCTION?

/Every project is unique, requiring a customized estimate based on its scope and complexity. I offer standard rates for both photo and video work, determined by the time needed to meet the project’s objectives. During our initial consultation, I’ll gather details like product specifications, timelines, and final deliverables to estimate the required time. Within 24 hours, you'll receive a pro-forma estimate for review. Once approved, the quoted price is guaranteed, except in cases of scope changes after work begins or unforeseen challenges beyond my control.

If you are interested in obtaining a quote for your project, please reach out using my CONTACT FORM or contact me directly at: info@markbowersphotography.com.

Below is a summary of the various fee(s) I consider when estimating project costs.

*NOTE: not all of the fees noted will be applicable to every project.

DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH ANYTHING OTHER THAN PRODUCTS & STILL LIFE?

/Absolutely. I have photographed a wide variety of images during my 10 year career from weddings, portraits, & music to events and proposals. I am happy to provide relevant examples, which are not featured on my portfolio page; upon request.

DO YOU ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS FOR PAYMENT?

/Unfortunately not. Currently I accept checks, cash, ETF/bank transfers, or Venmo.

I ONLY NEED A 3-5 FINAL IMAGES-WILL THIS BE REFLECTED IN A LOWER COST?

/Not necessarily. My primary cost factor is time, from the estimate and concept planning to the final file delivery. A significant portion of any project is spent on set preparation and lighting. For example, if a client needs 10 images on a white background for e-commerce, I’d spend about 2 hours cleaning products, setting up the background, lighting, and taking test shots. Once the setup is ready, photographing the additional items is quicker, resulting in a lower cost per image. For smaller projects, I often advise clients to add more items or images to maximize value relative to the overall cost.

WHAT IS YOUR AVERAGE TURN-AROUND TIME FROM START TO COMPLETION?

/This depends on several factors and varies widely. Larger projects (e.g., multiple products or styles) typically take 3–4 weeks, while smaller projects (e.g., white background e-commerce) are usually completed in 1–2 weeks.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR REPEAT CLIENTS OR VOLUME PROJECTS?

/Absolutely! I offer a 5–10% discount for repeat clients and reduced rates for volume projects where multiple items are photographed on the same background. I'm also open to negotiating discounted rates for long-term arrangements with recurring image needs, whether weekly, monthly, or quarterly.

If any of these scenarios is applicable to you, please let me know when submitting your inquiry and I will factor it into your estimate.
