Portrait of Mark Bowers

Mark Bowers is a commercial product photographer and video producer based in Austin, Texas, specializing in consumer goods for brands and agencies. Operating as Mark Bowers Photography under Thunderbolt Commercial Photography, LLC, he shoots on Sony full-frame systems and blends traditional studio craft with a modern AI-assisted workflow to deliver polished stills and motion across cosmetics, jewelry, spirits, electronics, and CPG.

With a finance background from UT Austin's McCombs School and nearly a decade running a commercial studio, Mark pairs a technical, detail-driven approach with the business fluency to understand what a brand actually needs from its imagery.

His eight years as a licensed CPA gives clients a crucial advantage: an analytical, deadline-driven mindset applied to every creative project. Mark doesn't just take pictures — he manages budgets, optimizes production workflows, and ensures content aligns with each brand's financial goals. This foundation enables seamless integration of AI-generated content into client strategies.

THE “PROCESS”

From the first call to final delivery — how a shoot comes together.

01

Pre-Production & Planning

Initial details from the client are reviewed, prioritized, and clarified on a phone consultation. We assess scope — shot lists, styling, location (studio or on-site), and production needs — and I prepare a detailed estimate accounting for time, resources, and post-production. You review the proposal, and revisions are made if needed.

02

Production

Once the estimate and proposal are approved, logistics are finalized — scheduling, props, backgrounds, equipment, and any models, stylists, or crew. Shot lists and mood boards align creative expectations. We shoot in-studio, on-location, or both, uploading test images for your review so the look is right before we proceed.

03

Post-Production / Delivery

Images are culled with initial exposure, contrast, and color adjustments, then sent to an online proofing gallery. Your feedback is incorporated, with final adjustments for color, tone, sharpness, and blemish removal to match your brand. After a final review and approval, high-res images are delivered via a secure, password-protected link.

How do I get started?

Simple! Reach out using my contact form, which includes a few short questions that help me tailor a reply specific to your project. Once I've reviewed your inquiry, I can walk you through the next steps and answer any other questions along the way.

What makes you different from every other photographer?
  • A wide range of services — from traditional studio capture to a newly implemented AI/hybrid workflow. More creative range, lower cost-per-image, no extra shoot days.
  • Business sense, not just aesthetics — a finance background means we think in ROI and budgets, not only pretty pictures.
  • Straightforward to work with — collaborative, honest, and direct. You deal with the person doing the work, no agency layers.
How can I contact you?

The easiest way to reach me is through the contact form on this site — it captures a few project details which helps me respond quickly and point you in the right direction. I'll respond within 24 hours.

What's your pricing model?

Every project is quoted individually, based primarily on scope and the time required — deliverables, production complexity, usage rights, and timelines. All projects are estimated using day-rates rather than hourly, so you know your investment upfront with no surprises. I build a custom package for every client, and any quote is guaranteed. Contact me directly for a custom quote.

What's it like to work with you?

Collaborative and low-drama. I start by understanding what you actually need — the goal behind the shoot, not just the shot list — then handle the creative and technical heavy lifting. Expect honest input, clear communication, and a straightforward process from quote to final delivery. You'll work directly with the person behind the camera, so nothing gets lost in translation.
